Hair Barrette

     The hair barrettes we carry are from paper mache or olgolite. They are hand made and hand painted by Russian artists. The painting technique is called "Zhostovo" technique. Zhostovo school was established in the 19 century and since then was developing and becoming more complex and sophisticated. Nowdays Zhostovo old folk handicraft is very popular and is going through the period of its renaissance with Russian collectors and art lovers.
